How did you learn about CrossFit Warehouse?
I learned about CFW from Mike Fitz. My mom and I were looking for something new to try, and took Mike’s suggestion.
How has CrossFit Warehouse changed your life, lifestyle, and level of fitness?
Back in September when I first started at CFW, I reached the highest level of unhealthy/laziness in my life. I realized I needed to make a change, and it has been the best decision of my life. I have played sports my entire life, but I have never found a challenge like CrossFit. I am a more driven, confident, and overall better person because of CFW. I truly don’t know where I’d be without this place.
List short/long term goals you would like to accomplish through CrossFit Warehouse:
Short term, I want to get better at toes to bar, rope climbs, and muscle ups. Long term, I want to start competing in events whenever I can.
What do you like most about CrossFit Warehouse?
The thing I like the most about CFW is how much each coach cares about everyone. They do not treat it as a job, rather a hobby that they love doing. They invest their time and energy each and every day to help us become a better version of ourselves.
What is your favorite CrossFit movement?
My favorite barbell movement is the clean and jerk. Overall, I have accepted the burn and pain of the assault bike and have come to love it.
What is your least favorite CrossFit movement?
My least favorite CrossFit movement is by far the overhead squat and double unders (just because they are so frustrating).
What movements would make up your Favorite WOD?
My favorite WOD would be composed of the assault bike, shuttle runs, burpees, and clean and jerks.
What does your nutrition look like?
I try to eat as healthy as possible, but on the weekends I easily slip up. I eat A LOT of chicken and avocado, but recently have a newfound love for shrimp. I’m a sucker for sweet potato fries and cannot go a day without coffee.
I’m more of a TV show person, with Prison Break being my all time favorite series. But movie, I’d have to say Good Will Hunting.
Favorite music artist/band?
My favorite artist is John Mayer. Besides him, I mainly listen to country.
Favorite song to work out to?
Put On by Jeezy or Hot Shower by Chance the Rapper.
Achievements you’d like to highlight within your life?
I recently passed my boards to become a nurse. I currently have been working in the Pediatric Cardiac ICU at Advocate Children’s Hospital for 3 years, where I’m waiting to start as a nurse very soon. This is my absolute dream job. Oh and I have a very wonderful and supportive mother who also is a member at CFW.
List a few things we don’t know about you:
I love playing basketball, video games, and I am a huge Chicago cubs fan.
In 10 words or less, what does CF mean to you?
A life-changing hobby that I will never quit doing.
What advice would you give to someone looking to join Crossfit for the first time?
Absolutely do not think you are not good/fit enough to join CrossFit. If you put in the time and effort, you will see the results you are looking for, especially at CFW.
