How did you learn about CrossFit Warehouse?
My childhood best friend, Bridget, was an athlete at CFW who convinced me to check it out and I’ve never looked back!

How has CrossFit Warehouse changed your life, lifestyle, and level of fitness?
In a former life, I was a swimmer and water polo player and was really missing that competitive edge. CFW gave me that outlet and provided a more structured routine where I’m becoming an overall fitter version of myself; I’m in better physical and mental shape now than ever I’d say. It’s rewarding to challenge myself in the gym and actively see the progress being made when I hit a new movement or increase weight on a lift.

List short/long term goals you would like to accomplish through CrossFit Warehouse:
Short term
– Stringing together toes to bar and double-unders! I’m so close to both, but just can’t quite keep my coordination in check. Also, now that I can get up the rope climb, getting back down without burning my hands would be great 😉
Long term– Ray & Mike’s recent class has me in the zone on this one, but taking the time to focus on fine-tuning the correct techniques with the gymnastics movements. Well, any movement in general really. I’ve always been someone who “muscles through” things, but really seeing (and feeling!!) what using the proper form will do was eye-opening.

What do you like most about CrossFit Warehouse?
Hands down, the community and the coaches. The coaches truly have your best interest in mind and will push you to achieve whatever goal you’re working on. It’s so nice to watch them smiling and cheering when someone hits something new! The comradery in the CFW community is really what sets us apart. Everyone motivates and inspires each other while still laughing and having fun!

What is your favorite CrossFit movement? Power cleans

What is your least favorite CrossFit movement? Overhead squats, yuck.

What movements would make up your Favorite WOD?
Clean & jerks, box jumps, wall walks, dead lifts, and I might deny saying this some days but…assault bike.

What are you currently doing to try to improve your diet?
I’m really working on shifting my POV from “restricting” my diet to simply realizing what I feel good eating and what slows me down while training. I’m also guilty of the weekend munchies, so trying to curtail that a bit.

Favorite movie:
Top Gun or Step Brothers

Favorite music artist/band:
Anyone who knows me knows that my taste in music is all over the place. My favorite playlist has everything from country to punk rock to EDM to Irish music to 90’s hits… so narrowing that one down is impossible.

Favorite song to work out to:
Anything EDM/dubstep, but you can’t go wrong with a good ‘ol Two Friends Big Bootie Mix!

Achievements you’d like to highlight within your life:
Graduating with my master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis!

List a few things we don’t know about you:
I’m a big travel bug. I’ve been to 12 countries on 5 continents—some wild ones, too- like a long weekend in China and a month in the jungle of Panama. I’m always itching to find the next place to visit!

In 10 words or less, what does CF mean to you?
A challenging but rewarding lifestyle

What advice would you give to someone looking to join Crossfit for the first time?
Just do it and stick to it! It’s intimidating up front, but every workout can be scaled to your ability—you don’t need to walk in as an expert. Next thing you know, you’ll be at the box 5 days a week and following all the CrossFit meme pages and finding them more than relatable!
