How did you get into fitness and or CrossFitt?
I ran track Freshman year of High School but that is the only sport I did. As an adult I did Aerobics and Zumba classes but that was the extent of my fitness. After years of trying Coach Ray finally wore me down enough to give Crossfit a try and I have been with it ever since. Ya got me! Although my love is more in the Strongman realm of things I still love Crossfit programming and the WODS.

What made you want to become a Nutrition Coach?
As a Latina food has always been an important part of my upbringing. It is about family, love, sharing of yourself and a deep connection with others. I am actually a Pastry Chef, so I totally understand how delectable and enticing food can be and how challenging eating healthfully can seem. In trying to find out what worked best for me, I saw how different strategies worked for different bodies. With all the information we have access to it can seem overwhelming to navigate. I want to be the catalyst that helps people make educated choices that would change their lives in a positive way.
What do you love most about coaching?
Being able to encourage others and be an awesome partner/cheerleader for their successes.

What are some of the things you are most proud of accomplishing in and outside the gym?
Being lucky enough to find my soulmate and my biggest cheerleader early in life and being the mother of 3 empathetic, funny and kind children. My biggest accomplishment in the gym has got to be learning to not let my ego get in the way of my progress. Giving myself grace when it comes to learning new skills and working on older ones. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

What are some of your goals you have yet to accomplish but hope to someday?
Still working towards my 300# deadlift, to gain enough shoulder and core strength to get a bar muscle up without hurting myself and to finally stringing together Toes 2 Bar efficiently.

What is your favorite music or favorite song to listen to while doing a WOD?
Beastie Boys, Cyprus Hill, Eminem. Most 90’s to current rap, Techno, Electronic, almost anything with a good strong beat-NO country!
