How did you learn about CrossFit Warehouse?
I learned about CFW through a Google search and read all the good reviews. I signed up for a trial week and never left!
How has CrossFit Warehouse changed your life, lifestyle, and level of fitness?
I was in a bad place physically and mentally which was causing me to make decisions that were detrimental to my overall health and well-being. I felt like CFW gave me a second chance to rebuild my life and give me a sense of self-worth. Thanks to CFW and Nutrition Coach Jessie, I am stronger, happier, eat better, and completely cut off alcohol.
List short/long term goals you would like to accomplish through CrossFit Warehouse:
I’m 37, so with my 40’s approaching my doorstep, a goal of mine is to be physically fit in my 40’s. I want six pack abs!
What do you like most about CrossFit Warehouse?
I really like the programming. It’s challenging and keeps you on your toes. The coaching is also top notch. They ensure you maintain proper form and correct you when needed. Also, I love the kindness everyone has shown me. As a newer member, it made me feel welcomed. CFW is truly a no judgement zone.
What is your favorite CrossFit movement?
Cleans, push press, squats, box jumps, anything kettlebell.
What is your least favorite CrossFit movement?
Snatches and any of its variations.
What movements would make up your Favorite WOD?
Box jumps, cleans, kettlebell swings.
What are you currently doing to try to improve your diet?
I have been working with Coach Jessie/Coach Estefania to increase my protein intake and focus on more nutritious snacks.
I’ll go with a favorite childhood movie: Homeward Bound the Incredible Journey. I can’t!
Favorite music artist/band: Taylor Swift — I am a proud OG Swiftie.
Favorite song to work out to: Probably anything by Calvin Harris puts a pep in my elder millennial step.
Achievements you’d like to highlight within your life: Most recently, I PR’d my Turkey Trot time by a little over six minutes! I was shocked! All the training at CFW for the past five to six months paid off.
List a few things we don’t know about you:
I lived in Pittsburgh for five years to attend graduate school and graduated with an MA in communications and an MBA. This explains the Pittsburgh gear I always wear. Also, I am a fur mom to two bunnies, Leon and Maddie, and a senior rescue dog, Haley.
In 10 words or less, what does CF mean to you?
CrossFit means investing in your current and future self.
What advice would you give to someone looking to join Crossfit for the first time?
CrossFit is for everyone at every skill level. Don’t get intimidated by the advanced movements because there are modifications for your skill level and you will still get a killer workout. As you build your strength, you will develop as an athlete.
